We’re nearing the end of another good year as a church.
We’ve seen a greater desire for “more” of the Lord in our lives, greater obedience to His Word and health in all our church endeavours.
I’m grateful for what God has done and continues to do among us.
We’ve seen people saved, healed and added to the church. We’ve celebrated baby dedications and weddings, announced engagements and had some funerals. It has been a full year in every respect.
Our first NewDAY Equip was a wonderful success as over 300 people between our sites took time off from work to be equipped for works of service. The speakers were world-class and inspired faith in us as well as increasing our ability and effectiveness in serving God in our church and communities.
Both the Men’s Camp and Ladies’ Weekend were bursting at the seams, with God doing significant things in many lives. The testimonies keep coming in and assures me of this: We are definitely stronger TOGETHER!
As we look ahead to December and look forward to spending time with family and enjoying food and celebration, I’d like to point us towards 2 things that God has spoken over us as a church as we forge into 2015.
Firstly, the 2 primary values that will instil faith, inspire, motivate and drive NewDAY forward into what God has for us in the coming year is:
1.) A culture of invitation and
2.) A culture of evangelism
At the forefront of the church’s activity must be our desire to fulfil The Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-19. Jesus also told us that the fields are ripe for harvest and that we need to pray for workers to be sent into the harvest fields.
In order to thoroughly equip the church to generate and maintain this culture of invitation and evangelism that we are called to, we are running the Alpha Course multiple times over the course of the next year.
Our Growth Groups are driving this in a big way and we are trusting that members of our sites that are not part of a Growth Group will join one for the duration of the Alpha Course in order for the DNA of our culture of invitation and evangelism to be fully entrenched in all of us.
The Alpha Course is starting early February 2015 and we are launching 28 courses simultaneously.
Secondly, we are trusting God to move NewDAY Edenvale to a new venue. All available space at the current site is being utilised to the full and if we are to grow into the thousands over the next 5 years that God has spoken into our future, we need a much larger facility.
Please be praying into this adventure with us. As you know, we cannot make this happen. God has spoken. It is His plan, His church, His future for us. He will provide the facility.
God bless you and we’ll chat again soon
